Plagiarism Policy

The Ecovisi Journal of Public Policy, Laws & Social Science (EJPLS) is committed to publishing only original works that have never been published elsewhere and are free from any form of plagiarism or unethical copying. This policy is designed to maintain the integrity of academic publishing and follows the ethical guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Copying text, ideas, figures, or data from another source without proper citation.
  • Paraphrasing substantial portions of another person’s work without acknowledgment.
  • Self-plagiarism or duplicate publication of the author’s own previously published work without disclosure or permission.

Plagiarism Detection

  • All submitted manuscripts that pass the editorial desk evaluation will be screened for similarity using plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin or iThenticate before proceeding to peer review or production stages.
  • A maximum similarity index of 20–25% (excluding references, quotations, and standard methodology descriptions) is allowed. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be returned for revision or rejected.

Plagiarism Declaration

Each author is required to submit a signed Plagiarism-Free Statement alongside the manuscript. This document must be uploaded via the Open Journal System (OJS) as an additional file or sent via email to the editorial office.

Editorial Action in Case of Plagiarism

  • Before Publication: If plagiarism is detected during the review process, the manuscript will be rejected immediately.
  • After Publication: If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the article will be retracted, and a retraction notice will be published on the journal’s website.
  • Authors found to have committed plagiarism may be barred from submitting to EJPLS for a specified period, depending on the severity of the violation.

Author Responsibilities

  • Authors are fully responsible for ensuring the originality of their work and must provide proper citations for all referenced sources.
  • Authors must obtain permission to reproduce any copyrighted material and be able to provide proof of such permission upon request.

Ethical Standards

This plagiarism policy is aligned with COPE guidelines to uphold the highest academic integrity standards, fostering trust and credibility within the global scholarly community.
